Decorate A Kids Bedroom With Moshi Pillows

!±8± Decorate A Kids Bedroom With Moshi Pillows

Moshi pillows were invented in Japan. From there they spread widely and were brought to USA. Now they can easily be found in most of the American homes. They are good for almost everybody no matter the age or sex. For kids in particular though, they are ideal.

With a wide choice of shapes and colors, they can fit the taste of almost everybody. The special, mushy, feeling that one has when holding or squeezing them is because they are made of specials beads and other materials. Probably, softness of the touch is the main thing that make kids love so much.

Special micro-sized beads are used to fill these pillows. The diameter of these beads varies from 0.3 mm to 5 mm. The squishy feeling comes from the special feature of the beads to adjust to any kind of pressure. Lycra or nylon spandex is used to manufacture the casing of the, which is extremely stretchable and soft. Pleasant when touching and awesome when playing, these pillows bring lots of fun for children.

There is now a huge amount of colors and shapes to choose from. Finding the one to perfectly match the color of curtains or other furniture will not be any kind of a problem. They are great to bring attention to the interior too. Many designers use them to bring some special highlight, definition or character to the room, particularly when looking at decorating childrens' bedrooms.

When decorating an interior, ordinary shapes such as squares, triangles or round shapes can be used. Of course some totally extraordinary shapes, like the shape of a boxing glove can also be found, for example, and ideal for a child taking up boxing lessons perhaps.

Those in the shape of giant red lips or a heart could be ideal for a girl, whilst spades and diamonds will work well anywhere. In fact, there are no limits both to imagination and to the variety of choice. It is only necessary to make up one's mind about the choice.

In fact, they are perfect not only for people, but for pets too. They will be a great place for pets to sleep. A bone-shaped pillow is, for sure, the best for a dog and something like a ball of yarn, or a fish is perfect for the family cat and ideal if cuddling up in the kids room of course.

The great variety of shapes, like different footballs or basketballs or most kinds of animals with softness of touch and squeeziness combine to really create a great impression. With this in mind, they can be worked into a themed bedroom wonderfully well.

Compact size makes them just great for taking on any kind of vacation too. There will be no problems with the packing and transportation. The reason for this is simple, it is because of the natural qualities they have to squeeze into any space available.

There are a large number of online stores, auctions and main street stores which have a number of Moshi pillows available. This means that there will be no problem with finding the best one for the whole family. But when it comes to kids, probably the best way will be to let them choose by themselves.

The Future of Voice Controlled Technology

!±8± The Future of Voice Controlled Technology

We've all seen one of those futuristic movies where the human character interacts (usually by voice) with a supercomputer or robot. The classic science fiction movie,2001: A Space Odyssey is a case in point. If you recall in the movie, the spaceship's onboard supercomputer, HAL, interacts with its astronauts as the ship travels to Jupiter. Eventually, HAL evolves to a point where it turns on its two astronaut "colleagues" out of self-preservation.

Then there's the Terminator series in which a supercomputer system known as "Skynet" becomes self-aware and begins to propagate other computers to terminate all human life.

Hopefully, this is not what we can expect from the future when it comes to our use of computers and in particular, voice controlled technology.

Today, we see voice recognition technology in use almost everywhere. From the voice-dial feature on our cell phones to the OnStar feature offered in newer GM vehicles, voice controlled technology is here to stay, to improve and to make our lives more comfortable and easy.

The future of automatic speech recognition or ASR, is still very much on the cutting edge as the technology continues to improve and its practical use expands. In the medical arena, patient history is easily translated from dictation by doctors into a medical record. Meanwhile, in the legal profession, court reporters make use of the technology during courtroom settings.

As I mentioned earlier, the telecommunications industry is already using ARS whenever you make a hands-free call or when you call in to pay your bill. The customer service savvy companies are even using special soothing or sexy sounding voices to assuage angry customers and improve customer feedback.

Even the U.S. military has a critical need for this type of technology. "Electronic crewmembers" will reduce human casualties and loss of human life and won't question a command of a human operator during times of combat. ASR is also becoming a valuable asset to military members during times when an immediate and accurate language translation is required.

Over the next few years, ASR technology will become more prevalent among everyday computer users. Perhaps the standard keyboard will begin its exit much like the horse and buggy? Either way, voice recognition software is here to stay and will help reduce the likelihood of repetitive motion injuries while improving efficiency and productivity.

And while this technology continues to improve in ease of use, performance and pricing, you can certainly enjoy the current technology through products that bring you rest and relaxation.

Kilimanjaro and the Rongai Route

!±8± Kilimanjaro and the Rongai Route

This route is a good alternative to the Marangu route. It is probably the easiest route for the first time climber and not as 'popular' as the heavily criticized Marangu route. This route uses small tents for accommodation on the mountain. Bellow is a typical itinerary - I would recommend taking an extra day to acclimatize making the whole experience more enjoyable and increasing the chances of a successful ascent. Ensure you pre-night climb is in Marangu village and not Moshi Town as Marangu Village is close to the park gate and a much higher altitude so as you sleep your body is already acclimatizing.

Day 1: Babylon Lodge: Transfer from Arusha/KIA airport to Babylon Lodge in the heart of Marangu Village for overnight.

Day 2: First Cave: Today you transfer to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate, register and begin your assent of Kilimanjaro. The days climb goes up to the first cave which is 1,800m. The climb will take 2 - 3 hours. This part of the climb passes the Crop growing area of the mountain. Overnight and dinner at a tented camp.

Day 3: Third Cave: Early in the morning, begin trekking beyond the second cave, and on to the 3rd cave. This is at an altitude of 3,800m and will take about 6 to 7 hours. The climb today is relatively difficult, passing through the forest and into the Moorland. After this long climb, Overnight in tents at the cave, where dinner will be prepared for you.

Day 4: Kibo Hut: Today continue ascending to Kibo Hut, which stands at 4,700m and takes about 3 - 4 hours. Rest early as the next part of the trek starts directly after midnight. The evening will be spent at Kibo Hut, where you will stay in the huts.

Day 5: SUMMIT: Gilmans Point and Summit: This is the most difficult part of the climb, beginning very early and up to the steep point of Gilmans Point (5,681m). From here trek onto the crater rim to see the sun rise. This part of the journey takes roughly 7 to 8 hours. Continue on to Uhuru Peak (5,896mm) and then begin your descent back to Horombo Hut 4 - 7 hours. Dinner and overnight at the Hut

Day 6: Final descent: The journey back to the park gate will take 5 - 7 hours - depending on weather and speed of decent. Collect your certificate, and back to Babylon Lodge.

The climb is often combined with a Serengeti Safari or maybe go to relax on the white beaches and swim in the clear warm waters of the Zanzibar archipelago.

Kilimanjaro Treks - Machame Route

!±8± Kilimanjaro Treks - Machame Route

Machame route to the summit of Kilimanjaro is very special; it gives you a chance to really get to know this extraordinary mountain. The huts for this route are in a very poor state of repair and are used by the porters; tents are used on this route. All supplies and camping equipment are portered; with a baggage limit of 12 kg. The night before your climb is best spent in the Machame village from where your climb will begin. This allows your body to begin to adjust to the altitude affording a better chance of reaching the summit.

Many, overseas travel agents will use hotels in Moshi Town, which is at a lower altitude and at least an hours drive from the Kilimanjaro park gate. The usual reason for this is many hotels also double up as a mountaineering company. These hotels will give the pre-climb overnight and post-climb overnight as complimentary in order to secure the business of the Kilimanjaro climb; thereby reducing costs to the travel agents; this discount is not always passed onto the climbers. It is always preferable overnight in one of the small but good hotels in Machame. I must add that Moshi town, for me, is hot dusty and most uninteresting, with Machame or Marangu [depending on which route you use] offering a more colorful first night.

The Machame itinerary is one of the most scenic routes by which to climb to the highest point in Africa; it is less used than the Marangu route and it may be said, all the better for it. This route will ascend from the western side of Kilimanjaro passing through tropical rainforest to the snows of Kilimanjaro, with views of the western face and the southern ice-fields and descend down the south face.

A typical itinerary would be to spend the first night in the Machame village set on the mountain and close to the park gate. The foothills of Kilimanjaro are cultivated; where subsistence farmers grow coffee and bananas. There are many pleasant walks around the village and time can be spent getting to know the local Chagga people.

Day 1: This is a 5 hour walk through dramatic forest up to Machame Hut at 3000m. Wildlife may be seen at these lower altitudes, including many species of forest birds.

Day 2: To Shira Cave, a walking time of 6 hours. The hike today starts off quite steeply to the top of the forest, then a couple of hours at a more gentle incline through the lower moorlands brings you to the top of a rocky bluff by about lunch time. From here descend 50 feet then start to trek westwards, a gradual ascent to Shira Cathedral and your camp at approx 3800m, on a plateau, with views of Mt.Meru and the Kenya plains.

Day 3: Walking time of 8 hours and the climbing is a fairly strenuous day, the altitude will begin to takes its toll, it is essential to take your climb slowly. From the Shira Cave climb slowly for about 5 km, through the ever increasingly bleak terrain. Head towards the cone of Kibo. Overnight camping at Barranco (3900m).

Day 4: Today starts with a steep hike up to Barranco Wall. There are some scree slopes and ridges to Karanga at an altitude of 4100m. There are breathtaking views here of the West Breach and the southern glacier. After the exerting start to the day arrive at the Karanga Valley for lunch and spend the rest of the day at this level. The time spent here affords more time for the body to adjust to the altitude and also reduces the distance of the next day's hike and the slower pace will considerably increases your chance of reaching the summit.

Day 5: To Continue the trek to Barafu ridge at 4600 meters above sea level [Barafu in Swahili means ice]. Again this is an acclimatization day having a relatively short distance to hike before the big final ascent starting at midnight.

Day 6: Starting around midnight in preparation for the final ascent. It is imperative to dress warmly as temperatures often plummet to minus 20°C The final days assault begins by torch light up the path to the crater's edge at Stella Point - this takes at least 7 hours - walking slowly with frequent rests; continue along the edge of the Crater after a short rest, to the highest point in Africa - Uhuru Peak at 5895m - with incredible views of glaciers and the plains of Africa stretched out below. Then the descent to Mweka, stopping for a short rest at Barafu, and arriving late afternoon at Mweka; which is on the edge of the rainforest. If anyone in party is showing any signs of altitude sickness you guide will descend fairly quickly to this camp. [See my article on altitude sickness.]

Day 7: Descend to Mweka Village about 4 hours steady downhill walk to meet the transport to the hotel for a hot shower and to celebrate your achievement.

Day 8: I would now recommend a visit to one of the spiced islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago - see the article 'The Spiced islands of Zanzibar'.
